We live in a digital world. So, you should agree that there is value in engaging your target audience directly through social media. A 2012 study conducted by Pew Research Centers found that 65% of Internet users use social media. Of users on Facebook, 58% liked a brand page in 2011 and 41% shared content about that brand on their wall.Sharing your business’ content online increases your ability to spread your brand via word of mouth.
Remember to target community influencers, public figures, bloggers and journalists. Make sure these people know exactly what you offer. Reach out to them with newsworthy information such as a new product release, an upcoming event, special sale, etc. The goal is to reach an audience and motivate them to share your content with their family, friends and colleagues. Engaging these key influencers can play an important role in growing your list of prospects and attracting new customers.
