No, we are not suggesting that we share spooky stories around a campfire. This blog is about a trend in social media marketing called “ghost blogging”, where the business partners with a content expert to write stories for their blog. Ghostbloggers are essentially reporters who gather information from the business’ ‘subject matter experts’ and then convert the information into relevant and engaging content in an original blog post. The need arose when business owners realized two things: their staff, while experts in their field, did not necessarily have the skills to be good creative writers. Secondly, time was an issue. With the time it takes to produce a blog, the employees’ time would be better spent on their primary job skill. [That’s where a ghostblogger comes to the rescue.]
Don’t let lack of talent and time keep you from publishing a blog. The benefits outweigh the negatives. The more content that exists about your business the better marketing presence it will have online. A blog is an easy way to start a ‘Social Storytelling’ program. Social Storytelling boosts brand awareness, helps attract new customers and aids in maximizing the customer experience.
So if you don’t have the time or skills to write your business’ blog or if you are feeling at a loss for social media posts, ‘who ya gunna call?!’
“Don’t focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.” ~ Brian Clark
